Young Fife athlete joins GOGA in Fife team

Alex Evans is the most recent ex pupil of Balwearie HS to join the Get Out Get Active (GOGA in Fife) team of peer mentor volunteers who support the ever expanding Fife programme supported by Spirit of 2012.

Alex is now a Fife College student and a committed Disability Sport Fife member, excelling in track and football in particular. Alex has recently registered for weekly badminton.

Alex received his volunteer shirt this week and is signed up to support adults with severe and complex needs who meet weekly at the Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre on Thursdays. The session he will be involved with is supported by GOGA investment in Fife.

The peer mentor volunteer programme is one of the major successes of GOGA in Fife. The GOGA movement plans to engage the least active disabled participants in Fife in active recreation inclusively.
