JudoScotland

As the sportscotland-recognised national governing body for the Olympic sport of judo, JudoScotland represents our members, clubs, individual disciplines and hundreds of qualified, enthusiastic and committed volunteers delivering judo across Scotland.

We believe that the Olympic sport of judo has the potential to have a major impact on the lives of the Scottish population and in particular on younger citizens. Our sport has an inherent ability to engender respect for others, a sense of fair play, develops a personal confidence and self-discipline within its participants, along with the obvious potential for an improvement.

Active Schools Perth & Kinross

Our Active Schools team, funded by sportscotland, supports primary and secondary schools to increase the number and diversity of children participating in extracurricular clubs and develop pathways to improve the transition from schools to sports clubs. We provide children with these opportunities by working with schools and sports clubs, but we also need help from lots of volunteers.

Our volunteers play a crucial role in the success of all Active Schools initiatives. These volunteers dedicate an incredible number of hours to the programme, helping to make sure that children and young people have access to different sports.

We recognise that our young people make a valuable contribution as leaders in sport. Our LEAD Sport pathway provides opportunities for our young people to develop by accessing our leadership courses, roles, and experiences.

Active Schools has worked with schools for over 10 years providing opportunities for children and young people to get involved, and stay involved, in sport and will continue to make a significant contribution to a world class sporting system in Scotland.

The Daily Mile

The Daily Mile is a social physical activity, with children running, jogging, wheeling or walking – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but should aim to run, jog or wheel for the full 15 minutes. We want every child to have the opportunity to do The Daily Mile in their setting, and are now working to build The Daily Mile’s community with schools, early years settings, local councils, sports bodies and other supporters in the UK and beyond.

Deafblind Scotland

Deafblind Scotland is an award-winning national charity, and for 30+ years, Scotland’s principal authority on meeting the complex needs of individuals with acquired deafblindness. We aim to raise aspirations/expand the lives of Deafblind people, some of the least visible and most isolated members of society.

Our aim is a society in which deafblind people have the permanent support and recognition necessary to be equal citizens. We enable deafblind people to take their rightful place in their local communities or ensuring their voices are heard across society.

Our support/services include communication access advice; information/formatting services; welfare rights support; accredited training; health, wellbeing, and skills development programmes; and a specialist guide/communicator service. DbS membership can be the crucial factor in determining whether a deafblind person is able to maintain an independent lifestyle.
