E-Learning FAQs

This page aims to answer your questions relating to our two systems, JustGo membership system and the Brightspace virtual learning environment.

To register for a workshop, you may need two separate SDS accounts:

  • one for our JustGo membership system, and
  • one for our virtual learning environment Brightspace.

JustGo

This is where you will register to enrol on practical sessions. You will need to do both of the following:

  1. Create your account, or log if you have previously made an account.
  2. Enrol on the workshop under Events & Courses.

For Disability Inclusion Training, you may also be required to complete an online module before attending, the Introduction to Inclusive Practice. This is hosted on Brightspace.

Introduction to Inclusive Practice (Brightspace)

This is the virtual learning environment where you can access online resources, a course booklet and, after a practical session, your certificate of attendance. A separate certificate is available for completing the online module, whether or not you attend a practical session.

When you register for the Introduction to Inclusive Practice, you can either:

  • Log in if you are already a Registered User, or
  • Create an account if you are a New Learner.

If you already have a Brightspace account, for example if you have done a CWPS workshop, use your existing details to log in.

I registered for the workshop, but never received an email with the link for the course?

Please check all junk mail folders.  The email generated is automatic and some emails assume that all automated emails are spam or junk so will put this into a spam folder.  Allow up to 15 minutes for the email to arrive.  If you do not receive the email, contact admin@scottishdisabilitysport.com.

We can also check if you have made an error in your email address when registering.

Or do you have 2 or more email addresses?  You may have registered under a different email address.

What is Course Merchant by Connected Shopping?

Course Merchant is a company supporting SDS to deliver the e-learning module. You will not have to provide any personal information or bank details.

Will my work on Brightspace be saved?

Yes, you can leave the module and return to it later, and your progress will be saved.

I can’t play the videos.

Please check your internet connection or bandwith and ensure your device settings allow videos to be played.

You may need to try using a different browser, e.g. Google Chrome.

Alternatively, the videos can be seen on our YouTube channel here:

AIM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deFQtpUsCW8

STEP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deFQtpUsCW8

I can’t see the whole screen.

The display of the module will be maximised if using a laptop or PC. If you are using a smaller device, e.g. tablet or phone, you may not see the full display at one time.

I have completed a section and it is not showing.

Please wait a few minutes and refresh your browser.

Who is marking my self-reflection?

The self-reflection is for your learning only. Nobody else will see it.

I failed a test. Can I do it again?

Yes you can, you can have as many attempts as necessary, but you must complete the whole test again.

How do I get my certificate?

Log into the course and click the My Brightspace drop-down on the toolbar, then select Awards. You can then Generate Award and download your certificate.
