Scottish Disability Sport Boccia Development Officer

SDS has been successful in securing funding from the Scottish Government’s Women and Girl’s Fund to support the appointment of a Boccia Development Officer. The post holder will lead the development of boccia at grassroots level with a specific focus on women and girls and other identified talent recruitment classifications and will encourage potential participants to engage with the sport and progress along its pathway.

The successful candidate will work with key partners at a local, national and UK level to develop the sport of boccia at an engagement and participation level. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the existing SDS volunteer and staff structure to engage the boccia players of the future.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate proven experience of leading, developing, implementing and evaluating sports development initiatives and programmes as well as knowledge of sports development pathways. This post is initially offered on a two year fixed term basis with expectation of extension with an office base in Edinburgh.
