Scottish Disability Sport

A delegation of 73 skiers with learning disabilities and 59 coaches and volunteers have just returned this weekend from Special Olympics Great Britain’s National Alpine Ski Championships in Pila, Italy.
 

Four SDS Branches shared the honours at the 2012 SDS Carpet Bowls Championships at the Dundee International sports centre (DISC) in Dundee on Saturday Feb 4th. 

Details have been released about the London Boccia Invitational 2012, also known as the Test Event!  All BC1, BC2 and BC3 athletes who are eligible for selection for the Paralympic Games have been selected.  

Scottish FA is delighted to announce the appointment of David McArdle as the new Scottish FA Disability Development Officer. 

2012 will be an an exciting year for disability sport and SDS has a new and exciting event on the calendar to coincide with this year of sport. 

Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) and JudoScotland are searching for physically disabled and visually impaired volunteers to take part in a unique judo workshop that will be held at the National Training Centre, EICA-Ratho, Newbridge, Edinburgh on Saturday 25 February.

Scottish Disability Sport and Scottish Athletics are delighted that Phil Peat is heading to Scotland in February 2012 to run a field events workshop.

The Nationwide DSE short course swimming championships took place in Sheffield on the 26th and 27th November. A Scottish team of 25 made the journey south to compete against teams from Wales and the English Regions.
 

Scotland 's Lucy Porteus, Lauren Waddell and Alistair Daniels picked up four medals between them at the recent Tennis Foundation 8th National Learning Disability Tennis Event at Nottingham Tennis Centre.
